What we collect directly

Nothing, unless you give it to us. There is no account system and no login. If you subscribe to booking-window emails, we store the email address you enter and the races you asked about, with our email provider. You can unsubscribe from any email, and that deletes you from the list.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to see which pages are read and which searches bring people here. It does not identify you, does not follow you across other sites, and does not build an advertising profile. We do not use Google Analytics.

The accommodation map and affiliate links

Guides include an accommodation map provided by Stay22, and links to booking sites. When you interact with the map or follow a link:

• The map is loaded from Stay22 and will receive technical information such as your IP address and browser, as any embedded service does. It loads only when you scroll to it.
• If you click through and book, a referral is recorded so the commission can be attributed to us. That record identifies the referral, not you personally.
• The booking site you land on has its own privacy policy, which governs anything you do there. We have no access to your booking, your payment details, or your stay.

We earn a commission on bookings made this way. It is the same regardless of which property you choose — see how we verify.

Cookies

We set one small preference in your browser's local storage: whether you chose light or dark mode. It never leaves your device. Embedded third parties such as the map may set their own cookies under their policies.

Your rights

If you are in the UK, EU or a comparable jurisdiction, you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Since the most we are likely to hold is an email address, this is usually immediate. Write to ahmad@marathonstay.com.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above. We won't quietly start collecting more than this.
